Known as the first monoplane fighter in service by the US Navy, it saw less combat in the Pacific Theater of Operatins, earlier outclassed by the Mitsubishi Zero...But it was in Europe where this fighter had, during the Finnish-Russian War, the opportunity to demonstrate that in the hands of motivated and brave pilots, a poor performance fighter could engage and destroy a large number of Russian airplanes...
Anyway I've always liked the rounded shapes of this aircraft...
