Supermarine Spitfire...

The Spitfire was a legendary, world famous British fighter used by the RAF and Allies during WWII. Although playing a great role during the Battle of Britain, one have to say that the real protagonist was the Hawker Hurricane. First designed as an interceptor-aircraft, it had very good performances so it was used for more purposes: fighter, fighter-bomber, escort, reconaissance, etc. and saw combat in all theaters of operations as Europe, Pacific and South-East Asia.
