The Panzer 38(t) was originally a Czech tank, the CKD LT vz 38. After Czechoslovakia was taken over by Germany, it was adopted by the Wehrmacht and standardized as the Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t). Contemporary of Panzer I and Panzer II, this tank was better armored an armed, with a 3,7 cm KwK gun and two 7,92 mm machine guns. Czechoslovak tank manufacturer CKD (Ceskomoravska Kolben Danek) was renamed by the Germans as BMM (Bömish-Märische Maschinenfabrik AG) and production of this tank continued till 1942.
