Japan
produced different kind of tanks and self-propelled guns during WWII, but the most
widely used were the Type 95 Ha-Go light tank and the Type 97 Chi-Ha medium
tank. They played an important and victorious role during the first years of the Japanese
Campaign in the Far East and Pacific Islands, but later in the war they proved
to be at a disadvantage and outclassed when fighting against the US M4 Sherman Tank.
