A
particular version of the Pershing tank
was the T26E4 “Super Pershing”, armed with the T15 90mm gun. This long
barreled gun gave a superior muzzle velocity to its shot, to compete with the
8,8cm Kwk 43 gun of the King Tiger German tank. Only one Super Pershing was
sent to Europe, and fired its gun only once during the fighting, on April 4,
1945, against an unidentified heavy armored vahicle.
Following
some pictures of a Hobby Master 1/72 scale model (HG 3208) T26E4 Super Pershing tank.
