Heinkel He 162

This was the second German jet-powered fighter to enter in service during WWII, after the Me 262. Designed with light and cheap materials (non strategic metals, wood) and easy to build, it saw combat first in April 1945. Its mean mission was to intercept Allied bombers and fighters in the skies of Germany, during the last months of the war; but neither this nor other "sonderwaffen" could change the course of the war...
