The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the best single-engined fighter of its time. Its revolutionary design give it a very good performances that outclassed all allied fighters of the world when it appeared. King of the Pacific Ocean War in the first years of WWII, its decline begun with the lost of most experienced Japanese pilots during the battles of Coral Sea and Midway...finally was outclassed by the modern USA fighters as the Grumann F6F Hellcat or the Vought F4U Corsair. During the final years of the war, the Zero was used in kamikaze missions...
