Char B1

The French tank Char B1 played its mean role during the first days of WWII, trying to stop the German invasion of France. Manufactured by Renault, this heavy tank was well armored and gunned, with a 75mm howitzer and a second 47mm gun in a upper turret, plus two 7.5 mm machine guns. But it was slow and poor maneuverable, when compared with quickly and lighter tanks protagonist of the Blitzkrieg, where tactical mobility became more important than armor. After the fall of France captured tanks were put in service of the Panzerarmee,  fighting against Allies after D-day invasion. Some of them were converted to flamethrowers (Flammpanzer B2).
Below some old style pictures of two Char B1 bis, "Eure" and "Joffre", 1:72 scale models (Easy Model).
